Lawrence C. Lopez, the chairman of Strategic Research and head of its Northeast operations, has conducted hundreds of civil and criminal investigations as a private investigator over the last 10 years and an investigative reporter in the 15 years before that. He has taught investigative techniques to bar-mandated Continuing Legal Education classes as well as to investigators, reporters, and prospect-research specialists. As a reporter, Lopez covered courts, business, government and politics in three states, breaking major stories on government corruption and banking lapses. After leaving The Associated Press, Lopez worked for the Committee for Public Counsel Services, where he investigated cases ranging from shoplifting to murder, and for the Boston and Washington offices of the Investigative Group International, Inc., where he conducted complex business, government and financial investigations in numerous countries.
